INNOCENCE Shinobi aren't all bad... are they, Father? As the afternoon sun beamed down on Hoseki Village, its inhabitants continued along with their normal daily routines. As tucked back into the mountains as the village was, travelers often missed it by completely on their way through the mountains. What protected from travelers, however, also protected from bandits. How long had it been since the village had succumb to raiders, bandits or thieves? Things certainly seemed more peaceful in this region than back home, that was for sure. On the outskirts of the city, one of the 'guards' stopped during his rounds. In the distance, he could see the silhouettes of two individuals. One small, and one quite bulky. By the time the two figured reached the town, a small group of villagers had gathered to lay eyes on the travelers. They were shocked, however, to find that one of the travelers was a young boy. A silver-haired boy who appeared to be in his teens. Although young, the boy wore a small chestplate of metal over a knee-length dark mantle, along with a pair of armored gauntlets. Being a mining village, it wasn't the type of thing the people were new to seeing. The design, however, had them confused. Besides the boy, his companion seemed to gather much talk and murmers. While the lad was wearing simple chest armor, his much larger companion was in a complete suit of armor. His face was hidden from view by a helmet, and four blades clung to his sides. Cautious around the two newcommers, the villagers kept a path open for them. Once the duo reached the center of the village they would come to a stop. "I think they like you, Nii-san" the boy would joke, a hand moving up to scratch at his cheek. This comment seemed to anger the taller one, as he soon reached out and smacked him upside the back of the head. Now rubbing the back of his own head, the boy had a single eye shut. "That hurt, Nii-san.." he spoke while puffing out his cheeks, making him look like a pouting child. "Stay quiet, Kentei. I'll be right back.." the older one mutters before moving over towards a group of the villagers. As to not scare them away, he stopped quite a few feet away from them and began to ask them questions about if there was a larger village nearby. While that was going on the boy, who's name had been mentioned as Kentei, would try his best to stay put. His attention was easily captured, however, so he soon started to wander off. Just before he got out of reach, the boy would feel a hand come down on the back of his armor and pull him back. "Kentei..what did I tell you about wandering off? I found out where the village was.. lets go." With another childish sigh, the boy stopped struggling and would follow his much larger companion. "Alright Nii-san.." --- Thanks to the helpfulness of the villagers, Kentei and his companion had been pointed on the correct path. A long, snaking pathway leading up towards the mountain peak. They were so close already, so the team decided to not waste any time and proceed upwards. A knot was beginning to form in the young boy's belly. Finally, after almost a month of wandering, he had reached the first destination. Although nervous and shy, he felt a lot better knowing that there was someone with him. | words 577 tags none notes xxx chakra 100% |
