INNOCENCE Shinobi aren't all bad... are they, Father? With the tension in the room gone, the older Samurai returned to his relaxed posture as he leaned against the wall. He was worried for a moment there, but was quite impressed at how Kentei managed to keep his composure. There he was, a young child of thirteen who barely knew a thing about the world.. managing to garner respect from the leader of another village. He really was Kyouken's son. A natural leader, although timid, the boy seemed to live up to the man's expectations. Below his helmet, the samurai was certainly smiling. Kentei, on the other hand, had wide eyes and a happy grin on his face. He was a child, sure, but the fact that the first step towards peace had been established made him absolutely ecstatic. Upon seeing Kei extend his little finger to him, he'd look down at his hand. He still had his gauntlets on, and that would make for a rather weird gesture. Moving the glove up to his mouth, he'd bite the end of it and would begin to pull it off. His hands were pretty average for his age, and had a number of cuts, bruises and scars on it. For one so young, he had quite a rough history. Extending his hand to Kei, he'd wrap his little finger around the overseers. His eyes were closed, and a beam of joy was reflected on his face. "I'd enjoy being friends, Kei-san" The thought of being friends with the village leader was a no brainer for any good diplomat, but it meant even more for Kentei. It was a sign that he was able to, at least for the moment, convince someone to at least give them a shot. Back home, not a lot of samurai were sure he could succeed. A few even insulted him, or called him a traitor for trying. Maybe now he could prove to them that Shinobi weren't as bad as the stories made them out to be. That they to, just like the Samurai, were good at heart. When Akane, the Overseer's red head assistant, offered them tea Kentei would tilt his head. He was used to the custom of being served tea, but was unaware that the shinobi followed it as well. It was an interesting thing to learn, especially since so much time had passed since the two groups last met. When the mention of living arrangements were brought up, the young heir glanced back at his companion with a confused look. He thought it was a little much, but after some time would turn back and chuckled. "We have been traveling for quite some time. It's been almost two months since we left Sanrou. It wasn't easy finding this place, so it would be great to stay before moving on. We've got two more destinations to get to, after all.." Kentei trailed off, not wanting to reveal more about his mission than he should. He wasn't sure whether or not the villages were connected to one another, or if they even knew they existed. The companion, however, continued for him. "The next village is by a nice waterfall. If you wouldn't mind, Lord Overseer, we would also like to stock up on supplies. I don't doubt that there are shops in town that we can use to do that, are there?" At the mention of shops, Kentei looked back at his partner. Almost as if he had reminded him of something. Looking back, the young boy would smile and scratch his head. "There wouldn't happen to be a blacksmith in town, would there? My tools are a little dull, and you can't be too careful these days." As Kentei waited for a response, he'd move over to the sitting area. What came next, though, was unexpected. When Kei jumped back out of surprise after looking out the window, Kei's first instinct was to let his left hand shoot down under his mantle. While his companion stayed perfectly still, likely not sensing any hostilities in the area, Kentei couldn't do that. When his hand met the hilt of his blade, he stood at the ready. He didn't know what was going on, but wanted to be on guard just in case. | words 708 tags ? Akane Kei notes xxx chakra 100% |
