they say i'm caught up in a dream
The day was young, the sun was barely up, and Tera had slipped out of the too-quiet Tama household to go get something yummy to eat for breakfast. Nii-san would probably just about kill her when she got back 'cause she hadn't asked him for permission... At least she had left a note this time, so he couldn't get too mad about that.
He would, however, be mad about the ryo she had taken out of his wallet while he was sleeping. But that was just money, he made more of it all the time, so what was the big deal? He just didn't see it her way, and probably never would.
Tera's favorite restaurant had been open for a mere ten minutes when she headed inside and up to the counter to place her order. Surprisingly, she wasn't their first customer; the man who sat at the corner table alone looked like a shinobi ready to leave on a mission. She couldn't blame him for wanting to get the best breakfast ever before he left.
The woman behind the counter gave her an 'are you serious?' look when she placed her order, as if she didn't believe such a little girl could put away very much food. Well, she would be wrong, especially when it came to breakfast. It was the most important meal of the day, after all.
She retreated to her usual table and eagerly dug in to the food, picking apart her grilled fish and devouring it in a few bites. Nii-san would probably have a heart-attack if he saw the way she was stuffing her cheeks; he always made her act really polite in public so she wouldn't reflect badly on the name of the Clan, or something like that. She had kind of stopped listening a while ago.
The restaurant's door opened, the bells jingled, and Tera's ears perked up. Who could it be? Hopefully not her nii-san here to drag her off before she finished her meal.
