HONOR i will find out more about my family Last few months had been harsh on Asuka. First there was the fact she had gotten injured and forced to take a break from her training to heal up. Stupid spars. Fuck them and fuck everything else about them. It was in her nature to never back down, heck if her father hadn’t stopped her she would’ve probably killed the other kid she’d been training with. Seriously though, ruin all the fun… Then came a blow to the entire family. Her great grandmother Kimiko passed on little over three months ago. This… this caused the girl to pretty much shut herself off from the entire world for about a month. The girl couldn’t help it, her great grandmother had always been important to her… They were always pretty close, even if her asking about her great grandfather had always been a nono in most cases… heck not even her grandmother spoke about it but every time she’d ask, she could see both hints of sadness and disappointment in their eyes. It annoyed her to all hell. She wanted… no needed to know more about where she came from in that side of the family, being seen that from her mother’s side it was clear where she fucking came from. Sure she didn’t suffer as much as her cousin Kentei of all things but she was still looked at as ‘The general’s Niece’ and most the time she was addressed like that for some fucking odd reason and that pissed her off. All she wanted to do was be the best samurai she could but with the fact she was related to the general and his heir, while not directly affecting her did throw some of the expectations towards her… as to all the members of the Koden clan. Then came the other thing. She wasn’t a Koden by name, only by blood. And as such, when people didn’t know who she was until they met her mother, they’d treat her like she was a dumb kid who didn’t know her place. Right. Fuck that shit. Either way… Sitting in her room, Asuka would be sitting in the edge of her bed, looking over the blade she had received from her father’s side of the family. While not being sure what they meant when they said that the blade was special, the girl would admire it quietly. It was old, almost old to be considered a relic and yet there it was in her hands, hands of its new owner after an entire generation had had it. While her father did not use this blade, it had been her grandmother’s for the longest of times. Her eyes moved over to a box that had been left to her by Kimiki as she sighed /She told me to open it when I felt ready to know more about my family…/ the girl slowly got up and started to walk to the box slowly, her form showing she was extremely nervous. Her hand placed on the box and she was trying to debate opening it before closing her eyes. Then she heard the door open, quickly turning around and looking at it. It was her mother “Asuka… Your uncle said he wanted to see you… Do yourself a favor and don’t ignore his request this time around, I really don’t want you to get on his bad side” to which the girl would nod “Okay Mother… I won't” she’d answer, only for her mother to smile softly and remove herself from the room. /Well there goes that… Better get dressed and go see what uncle Kyouken wants…/ And like a flash the girl would take little less than two minutes and walked out of her room, crossing the house and yelling out “Ittekimasu! I’ll be back later” she’d say before walking out of the rather large family house and into the outdoors. The girl would reach for the whistle she carried around her neck and whistled it out. In a matter of seconds an artic fox kit would reach over the girl and jumped onto her shoulders, wrapping around her neck like a scarf. The girl smiled and reached up, petting the fox’s head “Miss me Mika?” she’d say before slowly starting to walk out into the streets and down to the general’s palace. For the most part she’d remain quiet, only greeting those that greeted her along the way before she’d make it to the front of the palace stairs. With a soft sigh, the girl would look around before slowly starting to make her way up the long staircase. At the door she was greeted by the guards, whom had knowledge that she was to be meeting up with her uncle and just let her in. Main hall was a quiet trek up another set of stairs, then a turn to the left and up another set of stairs. /Swear to fucking god, who NEEDS all these stairs, I mean what the fuck!?/ Eventually in the second floor, she’d get informed that the general was in his office doing paperwork. With a small smile she’d thank the guard that informed her before going down the hall and stopping by the door to his office. Slowly she’d knock on it before pushing it open. She hated coming here, usually it meant trouble most the times when her and Kentei got brought over to his office. But with Kentei away she’d been behaving… if by behaving one meant that she spend her day in her room doing nothing. It was no lie she’d been slacking but her father had made no attempt of breaking her from it since the funeral. Maybe it was time to stop being such an emo kid after all… she was being the one thing she peeved so much. Naïve. After walking in, she’d close the door behind her and gave a soft sigh as she walked into the room. For a general, her uncle seemed to keep things tidy for the most part, besides the papers and maps and rolls sprawled over his desk. The tough of doing that all day bored her and she felt really sorry for the day Kentei would have to do such. The girl would look over, seeing him sitting in his desk “…You called for me, unc-“ she’d cut off, biting her tongue “Er…. General Kyouken” she didn’t like calling him by uncle while he was working, even if to be honest he didn’t seem to care much most the time. He was her uncle after all. | words 1,095 tags kyouken notes open chakra 100% |
