Black Market InformationHow the Black Market Vendor Inventory WorksThe Black Market Vendor has a limited stock which replenishes automatically once per cycle. After making his rounds to each village, the vendor will return to his underground base at an unknown location. While this location is on the map, it is unable to be found. Once in the base, he spends a week ICly gathering supplies, conducting business with unknown individuals and gathering new items for his stock.Example: The vendor begins his route in Yokuchigakure, his stock containing four Katana. While in Yokuchi, he sells two Katana before moving on to Ounou. In Ounou, there are only two Katana available for sale.
Unique items & The VendorThe vendor will sometimes stock uniquely made items such as a Katana made with a unique metal to absorb Chakra Flow. These items are extremely limited, and as such will only carry one - three of the items per trip per appearence. Once the Unique weapons are sold out, they will not return to the vendor in the same format for at least seven cycles.
Due to the rarity of the Unique items, each and every one of them comes with a guarantee to be replaced upon being lost or damaged. Each town has a supplier to deliver ordered goods from the vendor, but it will take quite some time to replace (one week ICly). This is free of charge and can ONLY be done for unique weapons. If the weapon is sold, however, the Black Market Vendor will not replace it.
Players who take the time to develop weapons for the RYO shop will find that the item description will be modified to fit as a base model. The unique 'Rare' varient will be available from the Black Market Vendor and is reserved for the creator only. (This applies only if the item in question possesses unique traits. Unique varients will be created from the base item, but never will be as complex as the original item submitted.)
Selling Stock to the VendorWhile on route from one village to another or while he is stopped, the Vendor will also be able to purchase items from characters who find him. While he is stopped he will purchase anything that the players can hold from Kunai to Unique weapons to rare 'hot' items. The Vendor offers to buy items in two forms of payment.
- Cash Payment
This type of payment works by directly adding funds into your RYO Pile. This means that the user can have an instant fund added into their account which can be used anywhere, even the basic Ryo shop. The drawback is, however, that the Vendor will only offer the player 50% Market Value for said item.
- Credit Payment
This method of payment works the same as store credit. The player is given a credit note that states how much credit the character has. This credit is ONLY redeemable with the Black Market Vendor and cannot be used in the standard RYO Shop. In order to redeem the credit, you must have the note on you. Notes CAN be stolen, but they cannot be replicated due to a certain process. Using this method, the Vendor will offer to purchase items for 75% of Market Value.
Missions & the VendorThe Vendor is considered, for all combat purposes, a B-rank Shinobi. Due to his large travel time as well as the rarity of his stock, the Vendor tends to hire shinobi from the current village that he is in to escort him to the next. This does mean that rogue shinobi are able to assault him during transport in an attempt to steal items. Unlike normal missions, death rights are in place for both parties. Any character dropped to the point of death is instead knocked unconscious. Upon being knocked unconscious, you must retreat from battle if rogue or wait to be revived by the Vendor/Teammates.
While there is no set rank for escort missions, Genin and lower are not permitted to do them solo. Their team must be acompanying them for this to take place. A further note is that rogues should, for the sake of fair play, only enter combat should the sides be relatively equal (No S-rank rogues trouncing on genin, please.) You must also think of ways to legitimately find the vendor and his escorts. Whether that is following them from town, tracking them, etc. It does not matter as long as it is a well thought out reason.
Along with different rules surrounding the Vendor Escort/assault missions, there is also a different reward system. The system goes as follows:
Since the distance between the villages vary to such a large degree, and since the order between which villages he goes to will differ, the longer distance traveled the larger the payment reward.
The payment will stretch anywhere from 40,000 Ryo all the way to 150,000 ryo. However, in cases where the travel is cross-map (Ounou to Sanrou, or vice versa) the Vendor may offer other methods of payment. (Upon successful escort. Payment is not given for a mission fail)
As for EXP, it is split into two categories. Escort Mission Success and Assault Mission Success. Since rogues are able to attack the Vendor in an attempt to steal goods, one side is able to fail while the other succeeds. In order for the escorts to succeed, they must reach their destination without the Vendor's HP % dropping to zero. If that happens, the Assault Members are each rewarded with a roll to determine what the Vendor drops. Winning teams receive 6 exp per word. Losers receive 3 exp per word.
While on the missions, the Vendor will replace all basic weaponry to ensure his escorts remain well armed.
