INNOCENCE Shinobi aren't all bad... are they, Father? Although the samurai boy remained silent as he listened to Yu's explanation over what they could do. He could reserve it, or he could leave it with Akane. Both were suggestions that he really didn't mind. He knew Akane would take care of it. At least.. he hoped she did. Regardless on what actually happened, as long as the ring remained in perfect condition would be all that mattered. He needed to decide, and with a smile the boy would nod as he looked towards her. "Akane-sama. Can you watch over the ring for me?" He was putting a lot of trust and faith in Akane. Although they had just met, there was a sort of bond there that had been formed due to the meeting. Kei went far enough to call him a friend, which was the first time any adult had spoken to him that way. Akane was nice as well, so he didn't have any issues leaving something of importance with her. It was then that he noticed her face. Something was off about it. She seemed a little awe-struck. Was it because he, a child, had pulled out a gold coin? Surprised to hear how much the coin was worth, as well as how many more it would take, Kentei once again reached into his pocket. Without much time passing, the sound of coin against the counter would ring out two more times. He had pulled out a few more coins and, by his count, he had about seven left. "I'm surprised to hear how much they're worth. Back in Sanrou, we get them as normal pay. The mountain's pretty rich with precious stones and metals. You should come by sometime, Akane-sama." As he spoke, the boy would slowly turn to look back. The black-haired boy who had been following them had vanished. Where was he? Kentei didn't hear the ringing of the door, but he must have slipped outside while he was focusing. While he waited for the money to be exchanged, the young samurai couldn't help but smile at the thought of how excited Asuka would be when he got home. She was his cousin, sure, but she helped him grow as much as any teacher had. It was a simple way to thank her after all. When that thought ended, another crossed his mind. He'd need to pick something up for Vallen too. They were going to the weapon shop next. Should he pick up a blade? Some kind of weapon would get his attention the most, surely. It was at that moment that he remembered he had been asked something. Yu was kind enough to warn him that some shopkeepers would try to scam him out of the value of the coin, but a small smile would come to his face as he'd shake his head. She was being honest with him, and was doing a good deed by warning him. "Thank you for the warning, Miss Yu.. but you could be scamming me out of the value too. I don't think you are, but I'll be able to handle myself. Besides.. I've got Akane-chan with me." He spoke without even realizing the change in his addressing of Akane. Sama had become Chan. Was he getting more comfortable around her in such a short amount of time? | words 555 tags Akane Ieyasu notes xxx chakra 100% |
