The First of Many Endeavors[PLOT]

Zanji smiles as he finally was able to exit the bar that he had had a most interesting encounter. his cloak swaying slightly as he walked out through the back alley. He had been given almost interesting proposition to join the ranks of anbu in this village. It was a very tempting idea oh so very tempting. But it had its many downfalls as well. he wouldn't be able to get much research done for his experiments. Hell he would even have to learn about the rules of this place learn all the terrain.

It was such a bother but he would need to think deeply ion it. He had so many plans he wanted to do before hand and after all the person who offered him this opportunity was mute on a time limit. He smirked he could work this to his advantage possibly after all. He snorted up some mucus from his nose and compacted it into his throat and spat onto the ground as he made a right turn. this city was truly was shit hole and he was going to treat it as such. This place had very few possible suitable locations for a laboratory. But he would scout them out even though it was somewhat distasteful being in a town of this condition.

He flicked his wrist back and forth as he walked the cartilage popping nicely as he made his way to the more shadier part of town. It was not to occupied but there were a few choice buildings to choose from to possibly turn it into a laboratory. The sound of the cartilage popping eased his tense nerves a bit. he was still a bit angry with that green cloaked mans actions from earlier were still bothing him. He was very fast he almost didn't have time to react to his movements. he was to slow he needed to fix that and quickly he wanted to get his speed and reaction time up. But there were only a few ways he could do that.

He checked over his shoulder making sure he wasn't being followed by those anbu checking behind him and the rooftops and stairwells and fire escapes. He was going to be very cautious from now on perhaps it would be best if he left town for now. It would be a smart move but he was in no mood to be trifled with not now. It was clear of any signs of people which made him a little more paranoid and so he decided to pick up his pace nd leave this area. he could do with just making a few shadow clones but that would be a waste of chakra. No he needed to conserve his strength in case he was truly being followed by anyone.

He made it to the main street and let out a sigh of relief as he continued his light jog. He was going to go check out a old abandoned hospital it may hold some medical supplies in if if not it might make a suitable location for a temporary laboratory. He moved through the crowds of people then he suddenly skidded to a halt. the corner of his right eye had caught a glimpse of something familiar to him. Or should he say someone familiar to him. It was his old friend Zaizen uchiha. his eyes widened in surprise as he saw his old friend walking about the town casually.

The last he had heard of him was that he had gone rouge. But he didn't have time to be sentimental he needed to get his scouting done first. He smirked under his hood and took it of for a moment and turned his head and faced his old friend. He gave a nod and pulled back the hood of his cloak and began to jog lightly through the crowds heading towards the hospital. He would go a decent pace so his old friend could keep up with him after all he hadn't seen him in a few years. He kicked down a door as he reached the entrance to the hospital. It was covered in dust in most areas he slowly walked towards the front desk and took a seat behind it. he grabbed a sturdy looking chair and then waited in the darkness behind the counter only his eyes shone through all the darkness.

Zanji sat alone in the darkness of the abandoned hospital. He was still quite amazed that someone still thought that he was still alive. But if it had to be someone he was glad it was his old friend zaizen. he leaned back in his chair and it lightly creaked as he shift his weight into it. then something happened the back of the chair snapped and zanji fell backwards straight onto his own ass. He let out a low groan as he shook his head and then rubbed his back slowly with his hand. he was not expecting that to happen and he was so hoping for a little drama for his re-encounter with his old friend.

Zanji let out a sigh as he picked himself up from the floor. His cloak now dirtied with dust. He would have to wash it later it seemed but for now he would keep it on. He kicked the chair remnants to the side and began walking around behind the desk searching for a new chair. He walked to the back office and found two metal chairs that were not in bad shape. He took them and walked back out to the front office and heard the sound of approaching foot steps.

He set up the chair and took a seat as he saw the outline of a person as they began to walk through the entrance. He smirked as he saw the crimson eyes of the sharingan as they gleamed in the dark. Some people would revel in this chance as a perfect opportunity to get their hands on the sharingan. But not him he would not hurt his dear old friend. He smirked as he saw the crimson eyes change to there normal dark color and he was at ease a little bit. He scratched the right side of his face as he felt a dermal irritation and he sighed as he sat behind the desk.

It seemed Zaizen truly did believe he was alive after all these years. He had done everything to the body he used to fake his death. He had surgically alter it's face and removed any hint of that being tampered with. He modified the finger prints of the corpse as well and he had gone to great length to find some of his exact build. His smirk slowly changed to a look of seriousness as he tapped his foot on the ceramic tile floor behind the desk.

His tapping echoing in the room as he spoke."Well well... isn't this a nice little surprise a blast from the past." he let out a small audible chuckle as he stood up straight. "Here I thought I made a nice clean get away but it seems I was mistaken." He slowly began to pace behind the desk like a animal on the prowl that had been caged for a extended period of time. "But I have just one thing to say it's dam good to see you again old friend now get your ass over here and gimme a hug." He smiled and opened his arms wide in a friendly manner as he chuckled happily for the first time in a while.

Zanji stood still his arms out in a welcoming embrace still directed towards his friend. He watched as his friend seemed paralyzed by something that prevented him from moving. It was most likely shock at seeing a so called dead man walking around alive. He watched as his friend stared at him dumbfounded like he couldn't believe what he was seeing before him. He smiled happily as he pulled back his hood and revealed his face to his old friend and held out his arms still in a gesture of warm embrace. "Yes Zaizen it is truly me Zanji, rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated." He chuckled long and hard as he said exaggerated.

Zanji shook his head and let his hair fall free as it had been cooped up inside that hood for a very long time. It was sticking up in some places but he didn't really care at the moment. He was going to savor this moment in his memories for as long as possible. He could tell that Zaizen had gotten much stronger since the last time they had seen each other.He was surprised though mostly that his old friend was still dumbstruck. He let out a soft chuckle and said "Don't look at me like I'm freaking Frankenstein give your friend a hug!" He smiled as he saw that that had done the trick and he heard him call out his name.

He watched Zaizen finally move after what seemed forever taking each step slowly. He noticed that his voiced seemed to trail off though as he spoke. He actually felt sorry for Zaizen they were very good friends back in the sky village. At one point he was almost tempted to let Zaizen in on his experiments but he didn't know how he would react and he really didn't want to lose a friend like him. After all there aren't that many Uchiha's in the sky village but he would never experiment on him. He was a precious friend who was there for him when he was troubled.

Zanji wrapped his arms finally around Zaizen and brought him into a hug. His old friend finally wrapped his arms around him as he felt the embrace of Zaizen. He smiled wider as Zaizen tightened his hug around him. It really seemed he was missed by his best friend after all. He patted Zaizen soothingly on his shoulder and said "Mind letting me go old friend starting to turn a little to become bit gay for my taste." He smiled as he was sure his friend would let him go he brushed the front of his cloak off and chuckled lightly. "Come now old friend lets lets walk and talk we have much to catch up on and I have so much to fill you in on as well." He smiled as he patted Zaizen's shoulder in a friendly manner and began to walk off towards the hospital. "Maybe well get lucky and salvage some workable equipment."

Zanji smirked and ruffled Zaizen's hair playfully as he turned and walked a few paces ahead of Zaizen. He began to walk slowly as he went down the hospital corridor towards the first wing. His foot steps lighting echoing along the marbled floors as he reached the first door he pushed it open slowly and suddenly there was a loud creaking noise. Suddenly the door snapped off its hinges and fell to the floor with a loud bang.he jumped back at the last second and watched a the dust rose up from the floor and spread throughout the air. The hospital smelled of stale air mingled with a hint of antiseptic.

He waited for the dust to clear as he began his journey through the building remaining silent as he walked checking each rooms sign. The rooms would not be a smart place to search in his mind the best areas to search were the supply units and the labs. Zanji felt good about this little salvage attempt he would at least find some beakers and test tubes and chemicals at the most. But what he truly wanted was machinery for analyzing blood and DNA now that's where the true goals were at. But how was he going to get any of that machinery out though some of them were pretty heavy. He considered using shadow clones to help him in his endeavor.

But there were other methods and techniques of cloning he could use that he had. But he would come back to this problem later on once and if he found what he was looking for. He stopped in his tracks and allowed Zaizen to catch up with him. It was nice to have his friend at his side again plus it was convenient two heads are better than one. "Well there so much to discuss about what I've been doing for the past few years well for starters I finally created that lightning jutsu that i had begun to work on hehe. Though it is still lacking its full potential still has its one flaw." He looked at a small very faded and dusty wall sign.  

The lettering was very faded so it was difficult to make out what it said. He shrugged and decided to follow it perhaps he would find a map or something along the wall or better yet medical equipment. " I have also been working on some very very promising research, but most recently there has been a slight problem." He sighed and leaned up against the wall and crossed his arms. "This villages anbu confronted me in the bar not to long ago they didn't see my face luckily and the strangest offer came from them. They wanted me to join their village as a anbu member." He let out a sigh of concern as he began to ponder just what where these anbu up too. He Gently opened up a door on his right side and smirked as it was unlocked and he pushed his head inside and looked around using what little light he had he looked around the closet.  "I really don't wish to join a village at this time yet the offer is tempting to take they could give me a lab and resources to continue my work. Yet I don't trust them at all, i need to establish a lab in this village a the least for now what do you think Zaizen?"

*The room that Zaizen has entered is home to a unique book. It is a book of medical conditions, most of which are well known. Some are new, and towards the end an interesting condition catches the eye. It describes in detail a condition where ones bone structure is a little less uniform than most. It's referred to by the name 'Shikotsumyaku'*
