It was astonishing, sometimes, to see how much could change in a few years. By the standards of the civilizations that had existed throughout history, the village of Yokuchigakure was still but a fledgling, existing for a mere moment in the expanse of time.
It didn't look, or feel, so young. It was thriving. Sometimes she thought she saw more people in a day in the village than she'd seen elsewhere her entire life. And though everything was still bright and shiny and new, the village felt alive.
She felt blessed to be a part of something so beautiful.
Sayomi was lounging on a rooftop, sunning herself and (once again) avoiding her place of work. It wasn't that she hated it - on the contrary, it was a nice, cushy office job, and there was eye candy. What's not to love about that? Well. Other than the actual work, that is. And if she strolled into the Mistress's office to (once again) try to seduce the pretty woman, Rina would look at her with those gorgeous eyes of hers and guilt her into working, just like that.
Damn the woman and her charm.
The sun was pleasantly warm against her pale skin, and she stretched out, resting her head on her arms. Sometimes it felt nice to have the luxury of being lazy. Nothing bad was going to happen if the paperwork detailing a mission to find an old lady's cat wasn't properly filed in the next hour or so, after all. It wasn't like she had plenty of time off with her particular job, anyway. Except for the fact that, well, she certainly did.
Stretched out on the roof of the village's administrative building, laying atop her blood-red cloak and soaking up sunlight, the woman drifted off into sleep. Her last waking thoughts were of naughty things that Rina almost definitely wouldn't approve of. Heh.
