Walking down the street towards his meeting point Ieyasu looked about weakly. He was on his way to complete his first solo mission and he was a little nervous. Well, More than a little nervous because he was half staring at the sheet of paper as if it was going to disappear. If he didn’t know Soragakure like the back of his hand, he would have ran into a lot f people and buildings. As it is more than a few people had to get out of his way. He held his first mission statement and he was just focused on that. Taking a quick look up to make sure he was on the right path every now and again had him at his destination in no time. It was a well-kept shack with a HUGE field behind it. It was the home of an eccentric who owned dogs but never did more than let them out in his back yard. No matter how huge it was after a while the same old same old got to be enough.
Oh, you must be here for the mission?! came a voice from inside the front door. Out stepped a rather portly man in a loose fitting overall and plaid combo. Well, Mittens, fluffy and wibblz are on there way here now. He said and then gave a mighty high pitched whistle. The kind that made a ninja wonder if someone had figured out how to use their chakra. Since this man wasn’t a ninja it was unlikely, but not impossible. However the whistling gave way to a bevy of barks and howls as just got closer and closer.
The three dogs were much larger than expected, one was a German shepherd: Tall and strong. It’s golden and black fur holding the cold at bay, hit face tilted to the left as he looked at Ieyasu. The middle dog was a Pitbull: Lean and strong with a white coat with brown splotches. Her Amber eyes shone with a devilish intellect. The last dog was the oldest, a hound dog: floppy and lazy with grown and black fur that seemed to roll off its bones onto the ground. He may have been old but he was very obviously the leader of the pack. Something Ieyasu would have to think about as he went forward with his day if he wanted an easy time. Well there all yours , here’s there leashes he said as he hooked each dog to a single leash, then tossed the leash to Ieyasu, Causing the dogs to chase after it.
Ieyasu caught the end of the leash and took off running, Hoping to wear the dogs out early by running. Wibblz however was not about the running stuff, he just happened to be caught up in the motion of the pack. The 4 of them ran and ran through the old country road that leads from his house to his village. Ieyasu wasn’t going to let them stop until they hit the village, this way they were more likely to listen to them as he walked them along the out skirts
To be honest, all the horror stories that ran through his head kinda pittered away. Despite how excited and energetic the dogs where they were in fact very well behaved so long as they stayed on the leash. The kept pace with Ieyasu easily enough, though the hound wibbles was getting a bit sick of all the running and couldn’t wait for the leisurely part of the walk, which was usually the walk home. So he could have his favorite part and then run and grab a bit to eat and sleep the rest of the day. His plan was pretty awesome by anyone’s standards.
The pitbull, Mittens, was more than happy to be booking it. His little paws pushing his sleek body through the air, the wind in it’s face. It was an amazing feeling and it was his favorite part of the walk. However he knew that it was usually the shortest part of the walk, he was just happy to get it from the get go. Fluffy the German shepherd on the other hand didn’t care either way, he just went along almost militantly. It made for an extremely easy sprint, so Ieyasu decided to extend it a bit and took them the long ways, in order to give them a special treat at the half way point.
After a little bit the pace slowed and they stopped running, but Ieyasu made sure to keep the pace relatively brisk. It was smooth sailing, the huffing and puffin of the dogs as they jogged made Ieyasu feel like some sore of powerful thing rushing down the street. It was an odd flight of fancy that he didn’t understand just yet but it didn’t matter, the time for them to get a drink and do their business was coming up around the next turn and then they would have to turn back.
The dogs hungrily lapped from the fresh water spring that flowed throw the lowed part of the mountains. It was one of the most serene places in all of Sorakagure and he was about to ruin it for himself. He knew it was coming when three shaky legged dogs start to squat in 3 different places. The part Ieyasu hated more than life was coming up, clean up. With leather bag in each hand Ieyasu cursed the large dogs for the size of their piles as he scooped with one leather bag covered hand and put it into a other leather bag. He did so with all the piled and simply carried them until he found a garbage and them he disposed of them.
The way back was uneventful. The dogs where tuckered out but well watered and they wanted to go home so it was easy to get them to go. The only shitty part of the job was done and Ieyasu felt a lot better about the whole thing. The walk home was long and easy the air was calm if a little cold but the dogs had fur and Ieyasu was dressed for it so it wasn’t any issue. On occasion a breeze kicked up but other than that it was decent. Upon getting the dogs back to the ranch the man who gave the bill greeted him with a smile and took the dogs off their leashes and let them go grab some food. Looks like you did a mighty fine job boy. I’ll let em know. He said with a nod and went inside to continue whatever it was he was doing and thus completed Ieyasu’s first mission, a fact he recited to himself as he walked home.
